Revelation. 5:5 refers to Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. If Jesus reigns as the King of the tribe of “Praisers”, then a life without praise and worship is a rejection of His authority as King. Our praise and worship must go beyond the music of our lips to the melody of our hearts. It must become the lifestyle of the Believer. Worship is defined as reverence, honor and humility to someone greater. It speaks to the value or worth you place on something.
The fact is, we all worship something. It is in our very nature to worship. However, what we choose to worship makes the difference. Worship should be limited to the One for whom it has been designated. God is worthy to receive all the glory, honor and praise. We should never allow anyone or anything else to receive our worship. God reveals in his Word how he desires to be worshipped. Therefore our focus should be on what pleases him.
My prayer is that Believers everywhere will come to a place in praise and worship where nothing else matters but God. When we enter his presence, everything else should fade in comparison to the light of his Glory. We must move past entertainment to a place where we lose ourselves in worship and encounter God in a deeper way. It is from that place of worship that we can humbly declare to God, “I am in awe of You.”
“Your power and majesty, simply amazes me. The beauty of Your holiness, leaves me speechless. The glory of Your presence makes me bow down in reverence to the King on the throne who will reign forevermore. I am in awe of You.” Keri Fraser
